Message From The Board of Directors

On behalf of your publicly-elected Board of Directors, I would like to welcome you to the Hi-Desert Medical Center website!

Our strong leadership team, dedicated employees, physicians and volunteers work tirelessly to improve the services we provide the people of the Morongo Basin.  I believe we provide vital and needed services here in the Morongo Basin, spanning an 1,800 square mile service area.

At Hi-Desert Medical Center, the Continuing Care Center, and our ambulatory sites, there's a new culture of service.  Our employees receive regular customer service training and patient-centered care.  And our patients are taking notice -- customer satisfaction scores are on an upward trend.

There's no doubt these are tough times.  Many worthy organizations are feeling the impact of state and federal cutbacks in reimbursement coupled with high unemployment.  Your community healthcare District is no exception.  But your Board of Directors has a vision to keep your healthcare District strong and viable in the years to come.  While we must be good stewards of the precious resources given to us, we must also have an eye on facility and service expansion, attracting and retaining doctors, nurses and other clinicians, to keep pace with the ever-changing healthcare landscape.

Our vision will be possible only with the support of the residents of the Morongo Basin.  Whenever feasible, we ask you to consider using the services that the District offers.  When you leave the Basin to access healthcare services that are offered here, dollars flow out of the Basin and the County.  Supporting your healthcare District has a tremendous impact on the economy of the Morongo Basin.

We take pride in our strong leadership, great quality outcomes, improved services, and state-of-the-art technologies.  On behalf of your Board of Directors, I welcome your comments and input as we continue improving services and making our shared vision for the future a reality tomorrow and into the future!
