Team HDMC places first at 'Relay for Life'

Team HDMC was 43 members strong at this year's American Cancer Society's Relay for Life event on April 24 and 25.  The team raised more than $15,000, taking first place as the highest fundraising team in the Morongo Basin.

Team HDMC adopted the theme of "LifeSavers," decorating their tent in the candy colors and handing out cancer screening education cards with the candy attached.  The spirited competition gave Team HDMC another first place, winning for the best decorded hat and walking stick.  "This is an extremely powerful event.  If affects everyone in a very personal way," said Nicole Sment, team captian.  "I was filled with pride knowing our team and the District supported this cause with such enthusiasm.  Actions speak louder than words... and this year, we stated loudly that we care in 15,000 ways!"

The team raised funds throughout the year with bake sales, boss' day honorariums, and the popular "Blue-Jeans Friday."  Employees of HDMC were supportive of the team's many efforts.
