Continuing Care Center

The Continuing Care Center (CCC) is located on the campus of     Hi-Desert Medical Center and provides specialized care to residents. The award-winning design of the CCC provides panoramic views of spectacular desert landscapes for both residents and their guests.

The Continuing Care Center’s staff offers a family oriented approach to care. In fact, this past year—in keeping with national trends in long-term care settings—staff embarked upon a culture change: The CCC is being transformed into communities where residents and those who care for them can thrive in a setting more like home. Family members are encouraged to visit frequently. They are also encouraged to dine with their loved ones and participate in the award-winning activities our residents enjoy. Family members also participate in the center’s regular “family council” meetings, where they learn first-hand the planning that takes place in providing the highest possible care for our residents.

The Continuing Care Center is comprised of 120 beds in semi-private rooms offering three distinct services.
  • Subacute care: The highest level of care available in the long-term care setting, the CCC provides 25 beds dedicated to residents with ventilator and tracheostomy requirements. Clinical staff is specially-trained to meet the unique needs of these patients. The CCC is one of the few facilities in Southern California providing this level of care.
  • Skilled nursing care: Long-term skilled nursing care to residents who require assistance with personal and medical needs.
  • Transitional care: Short-term, transitional care for patients requiring rehabilitative therapies, wound care, or recovery from accidents or invasive procedures.
The CCC also provides a full compliment of services:
  • 24-hour nursing services
  • Physical therapy
  • Occupational therapy
  • Speech therapy
  • Respite care for hospice patients
  • Short stay respite care for family members
  • Spiritual care and support
  • Daily recreational and social activities
  • On-site licensed cosmetologist
  • A beautiful, newly redesigned, enclosed courtyard with water features
  • Pet therapy, including an aviary and salt water fish tank
  • Personalized nutritional meal plans with extensive rotating menus
  • Diabetes education
  • Personal laundry services
One of the many amenities provided by the CCC is its award-winning activities department. Daily activities are designed to stimulate and entertain residents. Special events highlight the center’s social model, and include community groups, dance groups and choral concerts. The holidays are special times at the CCC. There’s the regionally-recognized, patriotic-themed “Eldergames,” where residents participate in courtyard events such as armchair bowling and wheelchair races. Halloween is a special time, when residents enjoy costume judging. The holidays shine bright at the CCC, with our “adopt a resident” gift program and special holiday dinner celebration.
