Hi-Desert Medical Center announced today it is expanding infusion therapy services to five days a week.  This is in response to patient needs and physician requests. 

  

Infusion therapy services are located in the hospital and provide medication therapies and blood products including transfusions.  Not to be confused with a pain clinic or chemotherapy clinic, the infusion clinic supplies IV medications and new therapies such as those currently marketed as once-a-year treatments for osteoporosis.  Other typical procedures include treatment for chronic anemia and IV antibiotics for chronic infections.  The clinic is staffed by specially trained RNs familiar with the newest IV medications and features bedside charting of procedures.

    

The clinic is now open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and appointments are coordinated by the central scheduling desk.  Central scheduling may be reached at 760-366-6358.
