Hi-Desert Medical Center's Health Fair Draws Crowds! 
 
The annual Hi-Desert Medical Center health fair was held Saturday, March 27 at the Helen Gray Education Center in Joshua Tree.  Activities included: health screenings, hour lectures (healthy eating for the entire family, diabetes management, and beginning a safe exercise program), exhibits from various healthcare district programs and services, food and refreshments, and free raffles and giveaways.
  •   Hilda Fuster of Cathedral city performs a grip strength test with Gurpreet Kaler, physical therapy assistant. Sharon Dorgan of Yucca Valley receives pulse oximetry testing from Jane Reid, respiratory therapist.
    • Juan Aispuro (age 10) and Alyssa Aispuro (age 8) of Landers enjoy coloring fun while volunteer Rose Gorny looks on.
     
    Diabetes Nurse Educator, Bobbie Anderson, RN, CDE, from Desert Regional Medical Center, speaks to health fair participants about diabetes management.  Hi-Desert Medical Center has partnered with Desert Regional Medical Center to bring diabetes education to the Morongo Basin.

    The LifeStream mobile unit was stationed in front of the Helen Gray Education Center
    to receive blood dontions during the health fair.  LifeStream has partnered with
    Hi-Desert Medical Center to meet the needs of our community.
