Karen Faulis

Chief Executive Officer, Hi-Desert Medical Center

As of February 2016, Karen has served as chief executive officer of Hi-Desert Medical Center. Previously, she was chief operating officer at Palmdale Regional Medical Center in Palmdale, California. Karen received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing from State University of New York at Buffalo.

Beverly Fick

Beverly Fick

Chief Operating Officer/Chief Nursing Officer, Hi-Desert Medical Center

Beverly joined HDMC in July of 2016, but has been a Healthcare Professional for over 35 years and brings with her vast experience and success in building high performing clinical leadership teams and raising levels of employee engagement and patient satisfaction. Beverly received her master's degree in Administration with a minor in counseling from Webster’s University and a Baccalaureate in Nursing from Mankato State University.

Scott Wartelle

Scott Wartelle

Chief Financial Officer, Hi-Desert Medical Center

Scott Wartelle joined Hi-Desert Medical Center in November 2015 as our Chief Financial Officer. Scott comes to us from Tenet’s Houston Northwest Medical Center, where Scott served as the assistant chief financial officer. Scott has more than 20 years of finance experience and has served in a variety of roles, including decision support, controller and assistant CFO. Scott earned his bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University and is a graduate of Tenet Finance Academy.

Leahanne Irwin

Leahanne Irwin

Hospital Compliance Officer, Hi-Desert Medical Center

Leahanne Irwin began her role as Hospital Compliance Officer for Hi-Desert Medical Center and John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital in October 2015. Previously, she was the Nursing Director of Desert Regional Medical Center, a 365-bed trauma level-two hospital in Palm Springs, California. Leahanne has been in health care for more than 18 years, traveling across Canada and the United States, and demonstrates a strong nursing leadership background. She holds both a master’s degree in nursing and a master’s degree in health care administration from the University of Phoenix, and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
